About Me
I am Mark Salinas born and raised on Galveston Island. Youngest of three children. The oldest, my sister Yvette and older brother Martin. My parents Maria Del Aleman and Alfredo V. Salinas always drove me to be better than them. As all parents want for their own children.
I met my wife Michelle in 2006 and were married on the Beach in Galveston in August 2008 little over a month before Hurricane Ike. We moved to La Marque just shortly after the new year of 2009. Michelle and I have two boys 13 year old Maddix and 9 year old Mason. When Hurricane Harvey rolled into our area we then decided to move a little
further inland. We now live in Texas City and loving everyday.
I attended public schools and graduated from Ball High. I attended Galveston Community College for my Associates Degree, then transferred to University of Houston Downtown to complete my Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice through the 100 Club Scholarship
Program.
I started my Career in Law enforcement in January of 2000 with the Port of Galveston Police Department. As a part time patrolman. I then looked for a full time position with Galveston County Sheriff’s Office in March of 2000. Started in the corrections division, then transferred to courthouse security, and finished with the school liaison division. In November of 2017 I left to Harris County and started on patrol. I am currently assigned
as a Juvenile Investigator for Precinct 1 Constable’s Office.
When I told Michelle of my Dream to be Sheriff of Galveston County she sees the dedication I have to pursue this dream. The new ideas I bring to the table and fresh perspective for our County Law Enforcement seek the betterment of ALL citizens of this County not just a few!! I look forward to being your Sheriff of Galveston County. Together we can and we will break the mold that plagues Our County.. It’s time to put your
family first and seeking involvement of all citizens of Our County is my Priority!!
